Bellevue Highlands Residence

Bellevue, Washington

1999-2000

This project, built on the last remaining lot off a suburban cul de sac, required a home design that created privacy and intrigue along a narrow entrance.  Since the lot was irregularly shaped and very small, the home needed to be compact, but yet offer ample space in the rear garden.

The contemporary, northwest design, is a U-shape building, which privatizes the backyard, provides space for kids and the owner’s appreciation of native plantings.  Similar to the Kirkland terrace home, pairs of french doors were designed, to brighten the interiors, as well as offer views out to the private garden setting.
