Designed for the family of a professional couple, with a scientific background, the lakefront home Is situated along the east shores of Mercer Island. 

The site is long and narrow, descending to the water, and it was therefore necessary to add a garage module to one side of the driveway, with bedrooms and a bath located above. The primary living spaces, kitchen and master suite, are all designed along the water view side to the east. 

Downstairs, extra space for a guest bedroom, recreation room and bath are also built with lake views, and provide privacy for the owners upstairs.  Light was very important, and generously sized windows front all social spaces which gaze upon the water below. The owner, being a scientist, also prescribed a laboratory space, which is tucked away below, where windows were not necessary.
